I'm a two-time breast cancer survivor.

As I celebrate survivorship I hope you'll trust your instincts if you feel something isn't right.

I'm still here because I listened, and didn't wait.

When I had my yearly mammogram, something unusual showed up.

I immediately pursued it, they found something.

The rest is a story of survival, one day at a time.

October is a month full of emotions for me.

I carry gratitude, memory, and a fierce wish that everyone would feel empowered to speak up the way I did.

This is the blanket vest I made by hand. The textile is a patchwork of woven textures in a soft dusty rose, and I left the edges lightly frayed so the fabric keeps its character.
