This month we focused on
PLANNING FOR SUCCESS as a leadership skill
CASE STUDY--We heard from Burlington, VT WILPF Branch leader
Marguerite Adelman talk about how she plans a year in advance for an annual event that keeps WILPF Burlington visible and energized in her community.
- Help at-large members or branches choose actions or events that are a good 'fit' for their community.
- Discern the best way forward for new or seasoned branches to set branch goals, plan for the future, be more visible and widen their circle.
- Develop a clear path, plan goals and launch a planning timeline 18-24 months in advance of your event.
- Connect with inactive members and recruit outside volunteers to make your events more successful.
The
Powerpoint presentation includes accompanying
talking points and can be shared with your branch leaders or your whole membership.
We also discussed and polled call participants about changes we're considering in the schedule for these calls. We'll be continuing to discuss that on the March call.
