"A Scout Is..."
Our goal in this series is to highlight Scouts within our district who actively embody the core values of Scouting. Each month, we will showcase a different value. Keep an eye out within your units for Scouts who are living examples of the Scout Law and inform us! Our next feature will be: "A Scout is Thrifty." Keep your eyes and ears peeled within your units. Do you have examples? Submit them HERE!

We’re super excited to celebrate all of our Packs and Troops that earned Silver and Gold in Journey to Excellence last year!! Come join us at April’s Roundtable to receive your exclusive ribbon!! And, without further ado, here’s all of your updated program and resource updates:
IMPORTANT PROGRAM UPDATES
- National Guidance regarding registered leaders camping or attending a meeting with a unit that they are not registered with:
- - Overnight Events: A 21+ year old adult leader staying overnight with a troop MUST be registered with Scouting America in a fully paid role (not a merit badge counselor) and MUST be approved by the charter org and SHOULD be registered with the unit (as that's the easiest way for the unit to ensure those two things have happened).
- - Day Events: For a day event, such as a unit meeting, as long as the adult leaders present are registered with Scouting America, they are meeting our minimum youth protection requirements. Some chartering organizations may have additional youth protection requirements for adult leaders for adult leaders above and beyond Scouting America's requirements to be allowed to work with youth. For that reason, once the unit is certain Scouting America's requirements are being met, they should defer the final decision to the chartering organization.
