Reseda Elementary
The purpose of this program was to encourage engagement among members through a team game and recognize their outstanding attendance throughout January. With all members participating, the program aimed to create a sense of community at the Boys & Girls Club at Reseda Elementary. What set this event apart was the overwhelming enthusiasm it caused among participants. Members didn’t even want to go home, highlighting the immense fun and sense of belonging it provided. This unique aspect shows the program's success in not only incentivizing attendance but also in creating memorable experiences for the members. By combining friendly competition with rewards for dedication, the program strengthens the bonds among members, fostering a vibrant and supportive community spirit.

Blythe Elementary
As part of our Sports & Recreation programs, the Pickleball program targets members of all ages. It teaches them all the rules and sportsmanship that goes along with the game of pickleball. At the end of the semester, there will be a tournament for the members to challenge each other to become the pickleball champion!

Calabash Elementary
At Calabash Charter Academy, we have introduced Hip Hop 101 - No Easy Props to our afterschool program. Each week about 18 members attend this program. This is one of the few programs which targets members of all ages.
The members are working hard with Mr. Steve to learn the cultivation of skills in dance, art, and music among the multiple generations. In these pictures, you'll see a few of our members having a dance-off competition.
At the end of the ten-week program, we will have a culmination event on April 9th to show their parents the new moves they've learned through BGCWV.

Justice St. Elementary
At Justice Elementary, our music program, sponsored by the Get Together Foundation, is overseen by Coach Hunter. This semester, we've seen great improvement in our music classes, with students showing more interest and engagement. They're learning to play the ukulele and are currently learning to play "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” We're aiming to have them perform it in front of their parents at the end of the semester to wrap up the program. We're excited about the progress our members are making and look forward to their performance!

Woodland Hills Elementary
In partnership with the Discovery Cube, we have offered two 10-week-long programs at Woodland Hills Elementary this semester. The first program is Nature Connections, which teaches members about fruits, vegetables, gardening, and much more. The second program is a coding club. The members are learning to code using Scratch and will eventually be able to create their own video games. The program runs for an hour each week and will conclude with a field trip to Discovery Cube for all participating members. Many 3rd-grade girls are interested in coding, they have taken a liking to the program.

Gary M. Thomas Clubhouse
We're thrilled to see our high schoolers stepping up as mentors for our little youths, fostering a sense of community and leadership within our Clubhouse. Our elementary members were able to take part in the festivities and beat the heat with their very own snow cones!

Teen Center
Our middle school members had the opportunity to go on a field trip to three Ross Stores. The purpose was for members to show appreciation for the generous donations collected at each Ross associate's point of sale. We had six members participate. They were excited to create a poster of appreciation and thank you cards for Ross's associates. I want to highlight these members' enthusiasm and good behavior to attend this trip.

Canoga Park High School
In February, we dedicated time to creating clay pots as a way of engaging our High School members in the ARTS. There were three sessions dedicated to the pot creations. We started with sculpting the pots, then painting them once they were dry, and finalized by planting flowers in them.

|
Cleveland High School
Every Friday, we do our best to provide members with a way to finish the week with a smile on their faces.
One way we do this is by providing them with board games, movies, or art supplies. The members were super excited to see a brand new large Sorry! board game.

Chatsworth High School
At Chatsworth, we have been working closely with Letty, a health educator from Dignity Health to run the Safe Dates program.
Safe Dates is a program that teaches members how to date safely and identify abuse in relationships to support their friends and community.
We run the Safe Dates program every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in partnership with Dignity Health Foundation.

Monthly givers help provide high-quality programs which serve the kids and youth across the West Valley during the most critical hours of the day, after school.
Help us reach our goal. We are seeking:

20 monthly donors at $10 which provides one afternoon of services for one kid every month.
-
20 monthly donors at $25 who can help subsidize one kid's transportation to the Clubhouse for one day every month.
-
5 monthly donors at $42 to provide supplies for one class offered to 20 kids every month.
-
5 monthly donors at $84 to provide a STEM kit for one class of 20 kids every month.
