With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? (Mark 4:30)

Simply put, the Kin-dom of God is meant to grow and it is meant to be a blessing where it grows. Jesus, at his own ascension, enjoined the disciples to carry the good news of the Kin-dom out into the world so that more would be drawn into the loving embrace of the body of Christ and God-With-Us.

Jesus, in this parable, imagines that any such outpost of the kin-dom would be a blessing wherever it grew. Jesus seems to think that the community of faith should benefit the health of wherever it is rooted, providing a place to roost and rest for whomever flies by. Seeds sown are meant to grow up.

A Note from Our Board Chair

Friends,

Sunday June 11 will be a full day. BAPTISM! CONGREGATIONAL MEETING with fried chicken lunch! Add to the day, a CONGREGATIONAL VOTE to cap off the unrelenting work of God, the Interim Search Committee, and our praying community.

The Interim Pastor Search team is ready to call an Interim Pastor. Next steps include a presentation to the Personnel Committee June 5 followed by a Called Board Meeting June 6. Pending Personnel Committee and Board endorsement, the Interim Pastor candidate will be presented for a CONGREGATIONAL VOTE. The candidate introduction and vote will be held in the sanctuary immediately after worship on June 11.

Please join me in thanking the Interim Search Committee-Brent Ghan (Chair), Ken Butler, Phil Fichter, Lysa Holmes and Martha Jolly.

Thank you, God, for your care of your BCC KIN-DOM. We are moving forward.
See you in church!
