Dear Friends of Indigena,
Happy Nunavut Day! Today, on this special occasion of Nunavut Day in Canada, the Nunavumiut (the people of Nunavut) celebrate the creation of their territory. We are delighted to celebrate the graphic art and rare drawings of the esteemed Quvianaqtuk Pudlat from Kinngait (Cape Dorset). Quvi, as he is affectionately known among friends, infuses a distinctive perspective into his drawings and prints, influenced by his profound connection to nature as an experienced hunter. His acute attention to detail stems from keen observations, vividly capturing the intricate movements of creatures within his compositions.
Quvi's prints have become an integral part of the Annual Cape Dorset Print Collections, with two of his masterpieces, "Wolf Hackles", 2022 and "Agile Fox", 2019, gracing the covers.
We are pleased to present this curated collection of Quvi's works. Please enjoy.
Sincerely,
Erla, Doug and Patti
