It is with deep grief that I share the news that our beloved member Don Gordon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 1.

We pray prayers of celebration for Don's life and faith and of thanksgiving that he has now entered the joy and wholeness of God, joining his beloved Nahida and their sons Timothy, Paul and Mark, who preceded him in death. 

We also pray prayers of comfort and strength for his family who had to say goodbye to Nahida and now Don just 6 weeks apart, as well as friends here at Westminster and all whose lives he touched in the wider community.

I will be in touch with details regarding the service when those will be available. 

As we grieve, may these words from scripture give us comfort and hope:

I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.

Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow... No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus.

(Romans 8:38-39)
