Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!
Social media is already filled with shining FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL pictures that families are joyfully posting. You can see a bright smile, a new outfit, a backpack full of goodies and parents beaming with pride. What you can't see are the nerves behind those brave smiles. The anxiousness of parents sending their students off to school. The beautiful faces that don't get their picture taken or have a new outfit.

Thank you for all that you do to serve each student, educator, and family that come into your building. You are the inspiration for students going on to do great things and a source of refuge to those that need you the most. No other profession has the honor and privilege of having the best WHY for doing what we do. We serve so that they all may be empowered to live their best lives.
Best wishes for a successful new school year. The Peoria ROE stands ready to support your needs and serve you so that you can in turn, serve the students, educators, and community of Peoria County!

Preschool for All and Home Visiting Program
Our preschool program serves 3-5 year olds, who are not age eligible for kindergarten in a full-day, free preschool program. Students are taught by highly qualified teachers to prepare them for kindergarten. Our preschool program also has a family educator who supports family wellness and connection to resources. Students attend our program from late August to late May, with family connection events offered four times a year and usually 2-3 field trips. Besides starting children and families on a successful school journey, our program offers free breakfast, lunch, and a snack daily.
We have a home visiting program that serves prenatal moms and families with children under 3 years old. We typically provide 2 visits a month and offer monthly group events where we provide interactions for families and children or present information for parents. Our visits support families with developmentally appropriate activities to increase interactions with their child(ren).
We also support families with parenting skills based on their child's age and developmental levels and we focus on family wellness. Benefits to participating in our program, outside of the factors we focus on during visits include, connection to resources, books to grow your home library, and a spot in our preschool program when your child turns 3 years old.
