2026 AIA Connecticut Merit Award + Upcoming Publications

We’re honored to announce that Christian Rae Studio has been recognized with a 2026 AIA Connecticut Merit Award in the Alice Washburn New Construction category.

The Project

The owners acquired this unique property, originally home to a residence designed by Norfolk architect Alfredo Taylor in 1917. They came to our team with a clear vision: to create a new home that honors the site’s architectural heritage while embracing contemporary living. The project reflects a careful balance of proportion, materiality, and detail, expressed through a timeless shingle-style design.
