Greetings!
Buzz on the Winery
Harvest is in full swing and all of our white juice is in tanks or barrels. I will say that all of the fruit so far has been perfectly vine ripened. There has been much discussion about whether there is any smoke taint from the summer fires, but to date, no one knows for sure as it is not evident just from tasting the grapes. We will know more when fermentation is done. Red grape harvest starts this coming week and most likely it will all be in by the end of October. Lets hope that the reds are just as good as the whites have been and that the smoke did not affect them.
If you've ever wanted to taste Sol Stone wines that have aged, stop in on Saturdays from 1-5 where I will be pouring some award winners dating back to 2013. Hope to see you!
Grateful Red 91 Points
Washington Tasting Room Magazine recognized our 2017 Grateful Red as a Top Pick for Bordeaux style wines. "Solidity structured with a wall of powdery tannins flowing with seamless expressions of raspberry, blackberry and currants followed by flickering of cinnamon and white pepper that persist on the finish"
Thanks John and Adean Vitale!
We Got Ya Covered
We are creating a safe, comfortable environment for our guests to continue to enjoy their wine tasting experience. You will be nice and warm on the patio, thanks to our long time club member Steve James, who hand crafted our new barrel heaters. Or you can get cozy by the fireplace with a glass of wine. We'll take the edge off the crisp fall days and rain to come. Reservations are not required, but we would be glad to save you a spot. Just email Colleen or give us a call

The Sol Stone patio is now available to host your private events! Whether you are celebrating a birthday, hosting a baby shower or just want to have a game night with friends, we'll provide safely distanced, heated seating in our new tent for up to 10 guests. Come on down with your friends, family and food. We'll put on some music and pour the wine. Sol Stone will be thrilled to have you as our guests before or after our regular open hours. Email Colleen for details and dates.
Meet Our Sol Stone Team
Cheryl Barber Jones
Cheryl is our Wine Goddess behind the scenes. Fifteen years ago, when we started making wine, we were total neophytes. We knew we needed help and hired Cheryl as our wine consultant. With her extensive experience as the Head Winemaker for Chateau Ste Michelle and Silver Lake Wineries, she started her own consulting business for small wineries and the rest is history. She taught us how to determine ripeness in the vineyards, expertly handles our lab work and due to her incredible palate makes sure we're on the right track. Buzz has followed her lead learning all the tricks of winemaking. The best part, she and her family have become good friends! Cheryl's son, Dylan, has become our Assistant Winemaker, also learning from the master. Working as hard as we do to make good wines, it takes a team!
Happy Birthday Digby
Digs celebrating his 6th birthday at his favorite watering hole. He's taking a quick break supervising harvest and greeting guests at the Tasting Room. He'll be back to work this Saturday
