Business Excellence Awards Nominations Period Extended to September 4
The nomination period for for the Kelowna Chamber's 33rd annual Business Excellence Awards has now been extended. You may now nominate an individual or business for an award until Friday September 4, 2020.

The awards will take place during the week of November 16 - 20 online, and a virtual event will also be held to announce finalists in each category on Wednesday October 7.

Tickets are selling quickly; register today as an individual or a foursome for the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce's 35th annual golf tournament, presented by Parke Pacific Projects Ltd. Join us for a day of golf Thursday September 17, when we will take to the links at the Harvest Golf Club for one of the year's highest profile business networking events. Current members, guests, colleagues, clients, community members, and non-members are all welcome to join us.

Get Involved: Reviewing the Regional Transportation Plan
The City of Kelowna is working with partners on the draft Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) which will be presented during a virtual open house in an effort to gather your input on the plan. During the open house, you are encouraged to provide feedback and give recommendations to the plan. Your comments will be reviewed and considered as the RTP is finalized. 

Participants will have an opportunity to enter the random prize draw for a chance to win a $700 gift card to a local bike shop of their choice. This engagement opportunity is open from August 4 to August 23, 2020.
Professor Santa J. Ono Reappointed as President & Vice-Chancellor of UBC

The Kelowna Chamber would like to congratulate Professor Santa J. Ono on his appointment to a second five-year term as president and vice-chancellor of the University of British Columbia. Dr. Ono was originally appointed to a five-year term that began in 2016, and we look forward to seeing what the next five years have in store under his leadership.
Okanagan College & TOTA Support Tourism Industry, Expert Business Mentorship
Okanagan College has signed a formal agreement with the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association to provide one-on-one business training and mentoring sessions to tourism industry businesses and assist in managing COVID-19 related challenges. 

This collaboration forms part of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Resiliency Program, which has been established to provide support to the tourism industry to aid in recovery and regeneration.

ANDREW DARGIE | Dr. Dargie Medical Aesthetics 

Dr. Andrew Dargie is originally from Calgary, Alberta and has been living in Kelowna for 3 years now. He earned a full scholarship at Stanford University in California and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During his time there, he was an All-American Sprinter and competed for Team Canada multiple times. Andrew practices advanced medical aesthetics in both Kelowna and Vernon, BC. He also works as an emergency room physician at Penticton Regional Hospital as well as South Okanagan General Hospital, where he is the Department Head of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Dargie is the founder and lead educator for ‘the botox course’ and ‘the filler course’, Canada’s gold standard aesthetics training programs, and is a strong advocate for education in medicine as well as medical aesthetics. Through teaching, patient education and knowledge sharing on social media, Andrew has worked hard to educate patients and the community. Andrew has spent time lecturing across western Canada about complications associated with medical aesthetics procedures.
DANICA DOLLMAN | World Financial Group 

After previously working in an environment where she could live out her passion of bringing equality and accessibility to the community, Danica started as an agent with World Financial Group in 2017. Here, she found a new purpose and a new way to help the families of the Okanagan and that was through financial education. In 2019 she was promoted in her Firm and awarded MVP team for the most families helped.  

Over the years, Danica has coached Westside Girls Youth Soccer, where she was a part of the association growing up and was excited to coach the U6 team. It is extremely important to Danica to be a positive role model for young girls today and receives great joy in exposing the benefits of sports to young girls through her coaching. Over the years she has enjoyed sitting on her children’s PAC at their school and currently sits on the committee for her firm’s fundraiser for Children’s Wish, where they have raised thousands of dollars to grant terminally ill Canadian children's wishes. Danica is also extremely passionate in advocating for women in the Okanagan, each week she interviews and promotes women in business on her Instagram page in a segment called #girlbosschatting.
