Your Water Story: Carrie Swarts

We're thrilled to highlight Carrie Swarts, DPW-ESD Billing Specialist, for our first installment of the Your Water Story series.

"I get daily satisfaction from assisting customers with their sewer and storm water issues. It benefits our community and because of that, our citizens feel valued and heard. I am proud of my water story!"

Carrie's Water Story will go live tomorrow on our social media accounts, sharing her personal connection to keeping our local waterways healthy and clean.

Budget Cycle Update

The MWMC's annual budget approval process is moving forward, and the Commission will be voting on the proposed budget at their April meeting.

Following its adoption, the budget will be presented to the Eugene City Council, the Springfield City Council, and the Lane County Board of Commissioners. All three will be asked to approve the budget, and then it can be taken back to the MWMC for appropriation.

Prevent Mercury Pollution

What do I do with waste containing mercury?

Mercury must be properly disposed of to keep it from entering our waterways and posing a health risk to plants, animals, and humans.

Coin and button cell batteries, tilt switches, thermostats, fluorescent light tubes, and even some pesticides can contain mercury.

To properly dispose of waste containing mercury, visit the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal facility at the Glenwood Transfer Station.
