We are a mere twenty days away from Ladies of Summer! One of our Ladies, Emma Straub, took to her Instagram this week to celebrate the publication of her friend Ann Patchett's new book Whistler. (Libby reviewed it in our last newsletter). I asked our Instagram followers which of this week's two major new releases - Whistler or Maggie O'Farrell's Land - they're most excited to read. Votes were pretty evenly split! I read Land months ago and loved it and have already purchased a copy as a gift. Currently I'm halfway through Whistler and enjoying it as well. All of us who have read/are reading it really enjoy the mentions of Darien, Pear Tree Point Road, and Palmer's!
Also on shelves this week are Matt Haig's newest The Midnight Train, the first adult fiction title from celebrated middle grade author Ruta Sepetys A Fortune Of Sand, and a buzzy debut from podcaster and internet personality Brooke Averick called Phoebe Berman's Gonna Lose It.
Lastly, make sure you come by if you're in the market for teacher gifts, graduation cards, or activity books for summer travel!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mallory
