Timeline of Policy Changes

Click the image for a pdf version of the policy change timeline. We have a couple CCDC shorts that address some of the most urgent ones – Workplace Accommodations and Earned Sick and Safe Time. We will continue to share information on each as it becomes available. Please let me know if you have questions, or have a particular topic you would like more information about.

Building Future Leaders...

Thank you to all who helped make our annual Future 101: Planning for Life After High School event a success this week! This evening allows families to explore multiple post-high school pathways, success strategies for high school, and financial planning and tools. Thank you to Lakeville Area Schools for your partnership and to our member volunteers who spoke on panels and facilitated room discussions!

Thank you Erik Therwanger!

Thank you to Erik Therwanger, owner of ThinkGREAT and national speaker and author, for sharing his nuggets of wisdom on the ONE DEGREE enhancements we can make to jumpstart our success during Feed Your Mind last week.

If you missed it, and would like to learn from Erik – he has a LEVEL UP YOUR BUSINESS workshop coming up next month. Details below. I highly recommend investing a couple hours of your time – you will walk away feeling energized and inspired!

Photos next week!

Wow, after months of planning – one of our favorite nights of the year is finally here! We are so excited to enjoy a crisp fall evening out at the Airport on Friday. This night could not happen without the A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. support of all of these local businesses. THANK YOU ALL! Photos to come...

Karen is a long-time member of the Chamber, serving on several board and committees for us, as well as many other organizations in the community. We look forward to honoring her at the Women's Symposium on November 14. Please join us to celebrate and congratulate her!

NEXT WEEK

REMINDER! Dr. Van Zyl will be sharing Lakeville Area Schools updates, including information on the two levy questions that will be on the ballot in November.

Speaking of

Lakeville Area Schools…

Lakeville North STEM Teacher, Kevin Baas, is working on a cool yearlong project with some of his students. WCCO was out to cover the story last week. Click image to see the story. And, yes, I may know one of the students being interviewed. 😉

On another note - Kevin Baas, along with Lakeville South STEM Teacher, Dan Rawley, is one of our Youth Skills Training (YST) teachers. This semester’s students are just receiving their paid internship assignments and will be working this semester for some of our local companies, many of which hire the students on after semester completion.

Thank you to our 2023/24 Fall Semester YST partners: BTD Manufacturing, Delmar Company, ProTech Automotive, and Schmitty & Sons.

Tourism Tidbit
