Solid Ground Exhibit

September 28-November 21

Western Avenue Studios/ Third Floor Mini Gallery

122 Western Avenue

Lowell, MA 01851

Sunday-Saturday 9am-5pm.

Open during Open Studios ; October 4, 12pm-5pm

Solid Ground is a collaboration of many artists who work and/ or live in Western Avenue Studios and Lofts. The exhibit is to celebrate 20 years of artist studios and what it means to the artists to be working in this historic mill. Western Avenue Studios and Lofts is the largest Artist Community in New England with 370 creatives.

Nicole Bourgeois Williams is an assemblage sculptor at Western Avenue Art Studios #447. She is passionate about vintage and recycling, blending items from the past with discarded found objects to create Adventurous Robots, Whimsical Creatures and Art Dolls. Solid Ground to her is not just an amazing reclaimed building but also a supportive artist community that is continuously growing! Her show piece is "Sew Be It!". This piece displays an Adventurous Robot standing on top of an antique Singer sewing machine. The sewing machine is a representation of the building as the mill in past life was a manufacturing company of industrial fabric.

Please take some time to visit our amazing community of artists.

The building is open Sunday-Saturday 9am-5pm. Each artist has their own studio hours so if you would like to visit one in particular please reach out to them.

You can find Western Avenues directory here Western Avenue Directory

Western Avenue Studios has Open Studios monthly, every first Saturday.

Next Open Studio will be October 4, 12pm-5pm

Explore Five floors of working art studios, two floors of artists lofts, a coffee shop, a co-op art gallery, a food truck and a brewery.

It's an experience that you don't want to miss!
