Eleanor Roosevelt was a pivotal, early leader in the League of Women Voters after its 1920 founding, serving as Vice President of Legislative Affairs. She helped shape its policy agenda, lobbied for progressive reforms, and trained women in nonpartisan political action, strengthening their role in post-suffrage politics.
Eleanor is a riveting tour-de-force solo performance about this remarkable First Lady whose legacy continues to inspire the world. In a performance described as “brilliant and emotionally relevant” by the Wall Street Journal, Kandis Chappell brings First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to vivid life: candid and commanding, vulnerable and visionary, from the shadows of the White House to the global stage.
This production is presented by Rubicon Theatre Company at the Karyn Jackson Theater in Ventura, California, from May 13 to 31, 2026.
