Dear FAEA Family,
Post-conference blues are real. I know you miss each other. I miss you, too. But here’s the thing — we don’t have to wait until next year to connect.
Think of us like a mushroom root system — beneath the surface, we are still connected, still sharing nutrients, still holding each other up. You may not see it every day, but that network is alive and thriving.
So, in true 80s-cartoon fashion, let’s keep “Care Bear Staring” our way toward our next opportunity to shine. Send that text to someone you met at conference. Share a resource on our socials. Offer to guest-teach for a colleague. Those connections are like sunlight — they keep the network strong.
And as we head into the Fall and Winter breaks season, I hope you make it an artful one. Create something for yourself. See a local exhibit. Support a student show. Bring art into your home, your friendships, your community. Keep feeding your creative spirit so you come back in January ready to rock.
Until then — keep shining.
Together we are STRONGER.
Warm regards,
Latonya Hicks
FAEA President
