Impact Campus Ministries has hired a new Media Arts Coordinator to assist Brent Billings in communications and production. Chakowa Donaldson is an expert in graphic design and media. We’re excited to add her to the team at ICM.
A place where you are going to experience a lot of her work is within BEMA. She’ll be creating graphics, videos, and helping us run our social media platforms. When you do see those contributions, we want you to know the face behind the work. See some of her work here or here or here.
As you can see, she’s already taken our content to a new level—with so many more levels to come. We are excited to have Chakowa as our new Media Arts Coordinator. If you’d like to send a note of greeting, welcome, and encouragement to Chakowa, do so here.

What’s Happening Around the Globe?
Jacqueline’s Story
|
|
This is Jacqueline.
Her journey with Jesus started over 47 years ago in the lobby of a university library when two women from a college ministry shared the gospel with her. Marriage and motherhood brought naps, which also brought the opportunity for study. It was those seasons when she fell in love with the Word, and she enjoyed getting into many translations and resources. In 2010, a ministry she supported started exploring the Jewish roots of Christianity and she was excited to learn it all.
In 2019, Jacqueline’s daughter sent her a link to the BEMA Podcast. The first two episodes sparked her curiosity and the rest of Session 1 solidified her journey with BEMA. Marty’s illustration of having a different perspective, a more eastern one, was so clear in her mind—and learning to “trust the story” rekindled her passion for the Word. During the pandemic lockdown, BEMA was a constant companion and Jacqueline listened to several episodes a day. Eventually, she caught up to Marty and Brent in real time while she crocheted blankets, hats, and shawls.
For Jacqueline, tuning into BEMA is like sampling all the goodies in a bakery while waiting for the next spectacular creation from the oven. The mixture of verse-by-verse teaching and digging into the Text, the Jewishness of the Text, the history, the chiasms, and reviews of The Chosen from a BEMA perspective has made the podcast a rich resource. The addition of new hosts and diverse interviews are a bonus. Listening to Elle’s insight on women or hearing Porshe Chiles’s hope for more inclusion in the discussions of the Text were greatly encouraging. She continues to tell others about BEMA in the hope that they will find it to be a helpful resource as well.
