Have you visited a certain city or a particular town that ended up leaving quite an impression on you? That is exactly what I experienced while Rip and I were in SC on Saturday, October 5. Early that morning, as we headed out for breakfast, we soon found ourselves walking up to the most quaint family owned and operated market, Cahill’s Market. The entire outdoors of the Market was filled with beautiful landscaping and ginormous healthy plants bursting with color that had been planted in galvanized tubs, old pedestal sinks and watering cans. On the grounds, there was a 2-acre garden full of deep rich green lettuces and greens. Oh, and there was a good mule letting out his "hellos" to everyone who admired the place.
I could hardly go inside, because all my senses were completely arrested by the sights, the sounds, the smells, and the sheer “fall of it all.” Then, when we walked into the market, it was only a matter of minutes before we were enjoying the most delicious homemade breakfast and drinking coffee out of mugs–and not a single one of the mugs were alike! Loved it! Not only was the entire atmosphere so welcoming, but once we walked outside to the front yard, we were so amazed at the activities they had for families and kids. THAT is where I gathered up even more inspiration and ideas for our 1st Annual Pumpkin Festival this Saturday, October 19 and the 26.
We have so much planned for the Mississippi Farmers Market’s Pumpkin Festivals–October 19th and 26th, 8:00 a.m-1:00 p.m.–and everyone is invited! We will have all varieties of pumpkins and hay bales for sale, live kid entertainment, bottomless bags of popcorn, games, a fall photo op for families and much more! And of course, our farmers will be at the Market providing you with so much fresh produce, meats, coffee, eggs, cheese, seasonal plants and flowers, as well as some delicious home-baked breads and sweet treats. Want some unique holiday shopping ideas? Our Arts and Crafts vendors are always here with some of the most beautiful and fun gift ideas … all hand-made!
We’re so excited about our 1st Annual Pumpkin Festival and we hope to see you there!
In Growing Gratitude,
Lisa
