Keyano Huskies Golf Tournament

The Fort McMurray Airport Authority (FMAA) was on the greens at the Fort McMurray Golf Club on Aug. 23 to partner with the Keyano Huskies for their fourth Annual Golf Tournament. A big thank you to Keyano College for organizing this event. It’s a great way for community members to connect with the city’s all-star athletes and welcome new students to the region.

Alberta Forestry Demonstration at YMM

Alberta Forestry was on the YMM runway on Aug. 29 to conduct two demonstration water drops with one of Airspray’s Lockheed Electra L-188 aircraft.

The flight involved dropping 3,000 gallons of water to demonstrate the large airtankers capabilities to forestry personnel who have never witnessed an airtanker drop. This exercise adds a layer of complexity for their pilots who performed the drop while coordinating a safe and effective demonstration during regular operations at the airport.

Team Spotlight on Trina

Trina Jacobs, FBO Supervisor and Operations Assistant at Executive Flight Centre (EFC), celebrated her seven-year anniversary in May 2024. Starting as a logistics coordinator in 2017 during a significant restructuring, Trina quickly adapted to the demands of the busy Fixed Base Operations (FBO) environment.

Her early days were marked by a pivotal moment when, just two days into her role, she received a call about the arrival of Wayne Gretzky. “What in the world! Who am I going to see next?” she recalled, highlighting the excitement of working with private jets and high-profile clients, including celebrities like Toby Keith and Aerosmith.
