Grant Road ---- Noise Walls next to you?

They will protect you and the neighbors behind you!

NOT ALL ELIGIBLE RESPONDED! - As part of Grant Road Widening project, the city performed noise studies resulting in potential Noise Walls in front of certain Jefferson Park homes on Grant Road between Highland and Campbell.

STARS indicate parcels along the south side (Jeff Park side) where folks have voted for the walls. Some folks did not get the message. It takes 50%+1 of each section voting yes in order to have the walls erected.

If you have questions about voting, location or style of Noise Walls, please contact Lindsey at Lindsey.Salcido@tucsonaz.gov or 520-627-1611.

UPDATE - International School

Future of the Playground as a City Park

City of Tucson - Public Park reopening

Greg Jackson, Deputy Director, City of Tucson Parks & Rec., met with IST on 7/16, and walked the property. IST and Mr. Jackson discussed how vital the park is to the neighborhood and how good the neighborhood has been to the school and why we wanted to create a new Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA). He had already spoken with Bryant Nodine (TUSD). At this time, there have been no developments.

Jefferson Park Linear Trail - A nice morning walk

CHECK IT OUT! The tumble weeds are gone, thanks to our friends at Parks and Recreation. We continue to work with them on keeping up with the landscaping and trimming, and the longer term project, the installation of additional lighting in the park.

RIPRAP to be installed to prevent overnight camping near residential walls. According to Adrian Jaramillo, Parks and Rec, the riprap will be installed shortly. Many thanks to him and his crew on behalf of the neighbors.

Change in "Orange Bag" Program

Hefty ReNew Program is being phased out nationally, meaning Tucson residents no longer need to buy or use the special orange bags and can use clear plastic bags for the Hard to Recycle Plastics Program Orange Bin, City of Tucson.

• Orange Bags Phased Out: Retailers will stop selling Hefty ReNew orange bags by the end of 2026. You can request refunds for unused bags after June 30, 2027.

• Clear Bags Accepted: You can now use any clear plastic bag instead of the orange Hefty bags for Tucson's collection.

• Hard to Recycle Plastics Collection Continues: The city's hard-to-recycle plastics collection remains active. Collection continues at the Reid Park site, 850 S. Randolph Way

• Unfortunately, Styrofoam is now excluded: Styrofoam is no longer accepted in the program and must be thrown in the regular trash.

If you live in Jefferson Park, there should be no helicopters bound for Banner Hospital over your house. Jefferson Park has an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) that all helicopters must enter and leave south of the hospital, unless there's a special emergency or weather factors dictate a change in the flight path.

Place this number in your phone and just call that number-it is quick and easy and helps inform Banner.
