Meeting of Cuba and the Bolivarian Alliance Committee
The WILPF Cuba and the Bolivarian Alliance Committee will meet on Monday, January 10 at 5 pm Pacific, 6 pm Mountain, 7 pm Central, 8 pm Eastern. All WILPF members who are interested are invited to attend this meeting.

In this, our first meeting of 2022, we will review our plans for the year. John Sepulvado, the new WILPF media consultant, will stop by to get acquainted with our committee and its work.

End the Blockades!
Our essential project is to end the US sanctions, embargoes and blockades of Cuba, Venezuela, and other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean composing the Bolivarian Alliance. We keep in mind that the U.S. sanctions are economic warfare directed at civilian populations. The sanctions intend to induce hardship and even starvation in order to remove governments that the U.S. does not find in its economic and political interests. We know there are sanctions directed at 39 countries, blocking essential medications and food and creating artificial hyperinflation, disease and poverty.

Again, these actions are siege warfare, and they can be as deadly as armed conflict, which in many cases they are also intended to provoke and promote.

When pandemic conditions permit, we hope to bring a delegation including WILPF members and supporters to Cuba. There is no substitute for personal experience and witness.
