Celebrating the Recovery Journeys of Our Veterans

Veteran Julius Jones walked through the doors of Samaritan Daytop Village’s Ed Thompson Veterans Program to begin a recovery journey that would transform his life and career. Inspired by the support he received from fellow veterans at the program, Julius applied to be a Case Manager at our 43rd Street Veterans Program and now works in addiction treatment, helping others navigate their own paths to recovery. On top of celebrating 15 years of sobriety, Julius also recently celebrated another exciting milestone: getting married!

Julius was among the alumni we celebrated at our 12th Annual Veterans Alumni Black Tie Dinner, where we recognized the recovery journeys of those who have served.

This year's gathering also marked a major milestone in our commitment to specialized care: 40 years of supporting veterans across New York State.

Reclaiming Recovery Across New York City

Too many people still suffer from addiction. We want more of them to know we are here to help, providing a wide range of support services to meet people’s individual needs. To raise awareness, we are making ourselves more visible.

Our new mobile outreach van is bringing hope and support to New Yorkers, wherever they are. The recently completed van is part of our campaign to destigmatize addiction and connect New Yorkers to free, accessible recovery services with a quick QR code scan or phone call. As it hits the streets, the van will serve as a bold reminder that recovery is within reach.

A Record-Breaking Night, Made Possible by You!

Our annual Samaritan Daytop Foundation Gala broke records this year, raising over $1.1 million with more than 350 supporters in attendance—our largest turnout yet! The evening celebrated those who make our work possible and the impact of our programs across New York.

At the heart of the celebration were the people who bring our mission to life every day. Our special gala video spotlights dedicated staff members and their incredible work supporting New Yorkers through addiction recovery, education, housing, and overdose prevention. Watch our gala video and meet the staff behind our mission

Thank you to everyone who made this milestone evening possible!
