Reflecting On Our Christmas Celebration

Every year, our entire community eagerly anticipates our annual Christmas celebration. It is more than just a day, it's a time to commemorate and reflect on the bonds we have formed throughout the year.

It is a special day where Casa Esperanza is transformed with festive

handmade decorations that take days to prepare, MdC staff members embrace the holiday spirit with their funky headbands and outfits and the food is a traditional Mexican holiday meal.

Our staff, students, parents and community members all eagerly come together to not only celebrate, but to get their annual portrait and gift. Once again, we had a successful celebration filled with gratitude, joy, and memories.

The Festivities

Families walked into a Casa Esperanza and were greeted with beautiful decorations, festive tables and a welcoming staff.

We played games like bingo, and we had special prizes up for grabs!

Our MdC team worked really hard to make 500 tamales and a yummy carrot salad!

But the star of the show was a delicious cake made by one of our community members who just started a cake baking business. We paid for her class, and all of her materials were donated, giving her just the start she needed!

Our preschoolers from our education program presented a song and three kids presented for our education program. One kid even spoke about how much they love MdC. It was super touching!

Kids got awesome gifts like blankets and cute stuffed animals! And every student in our education program received a Bible.

Everyone loved our photo windows and were so grateful for everything that MdC does to empower them.

Below translates: "I feel so grateful towards MdC, because the opportunity to be part of MdC and for everything they do to support us, I’m thankful for the teachers, for the cooks and for our pastor Francisco and Jean, also I thank you for our jobs."

As families left, they took home enough groceries to last 10 days.
