Congressman Doug Lamborn's repulsive fundamentalist Christian, white, male racist bigotry is only exceeded by his pitiable ignorance in this most recent appeal to the most base fears of his similarly biased MAGA supporters. It's merely red meat to those who find "wokeism" (whatever the hell is meant by that) the new Antifa or BLM–their latest bogeyman.
First and foremost, he fails to recognize that USAFA prides itself on being the Air Force's (and world's) finest undergraduate institution for developing leaders of character. Leadership doesn't mean just leading people like yourself; it means leading all those brave and committed enough to our Constitutional ideals to put their lives at risk for our country. Since before the start of the Revolutionary War, that cohort has included people of all races, religions, genders, national origins, and preferences even if those outside of the straight, white, male, Christian majority were not afforded anywhere near the same opportunities for promotion and assignment as those of Lamborn's privileged ilk.
To lead all means to understand all, and here's where Lamborn gets it TOTALLY wrong.
We have the finest, most lethal, and respected military in the world precisely BECAUSE our future Airmen and Guardians are trained and accepting of ALL Americans in our services. We can only effectively face the “complex threats our country faces from China, Russia, and other adversaries" by preparing future Airmen and Guardians to lead from the front and make sure ALL those serving with and under them are maximally effective. This foundational truism isn't an either/or, Doug. It's a "both at the same time."
Instead, though, Lamborn would clearly prefer an all white, all Christian, all straight, all male military that aggressively excludes and disrespects others, minimizing their contributions. We have a name for lowlifes like this churlish fool: MONSTERS!
Look around, Dougie boy, we can't afford your 1920s Jim Crow Redux “utopia.”
White, straight, male Christians are a minority in our overall population and the time is not far in the future when there will no longer be a majority religion or race in America. That's inevitable, and we at the MRFF look forward to that day because we also know that our military will be ever stronger because of that beautiful diversity.
Diversity is our strength, not our weakness!
Our USAFA cadets deserve this training, and moreover it's absolutely necessary in today's world. To badger and harass USAFA leadership out of fear and a desire to rile your petty base of bigots and prejudiced cretins is the tactic of an insecure, ignorant simpleton.
Notwithstanding the fact that USAFA has had plenty of things wrong with it for a long time, your self-serving attacks are baseless, weak, and despicably pusillanimous.
Indeed, Congressman Doug Lamborn, you are THE exact opposite role model our USAFA cadets need in these treacherous times.
