Monthly Spotlight

The Kansas population has grown over the last two decades, climbing to nearly three million residents. Despite growing slower than the United States, Kansas’ population growth has remained positive for every year since 2000 with the exception of 2022. This report highlights different characteristics of the Kansas population, including how populations are distributed across Kansas counties, and breakouts illustrating the number of Kansas residents by age group.

Statewide projections by industry and occupation are available now!

Regional projections will be available later this year.

Projections inform researchers and other interested parties about the future direction of the labor market and its implications for the economy. Projections also play an important role in making career choices.
