STAFF SPEAKING

Here is a note from the Membership & Events Manager, Jess Walker:

"This is shaping up to be the best and most productive year yet for the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and our members.  I am excited to be able to provide a year's worth of workshops and luncheons covering the issues and topics that mean the most to you! The Chamber is striving to offer various venues, speakers and subjects while maintaining convenience and relevancy to all our members.   I look forward to seeing how the Chamber helps inspire and support the Prince George business community through our upcoming events and networking opportunities.  Join us for our next Speaker Series luncheon with Pacific Coastal Airlines on April 9th!"

2014 BEA WINNER SPOTLIGHT
MICRO BUSINESS OF THE YEAR WINNER - 6IXSIGMA PRODUCTIONS LTD.

Winning a Business Excellence Award can help increase the profile of businesses in our community. This was definitely the case for Micro Business Award Winner 6ix Sigma Productions. Co-owners Jason Hamborg and Glenn King reflect on what winning the award meant to their visual production company.

1. Describe what it was like to hear your name called, and receive the Micro Business of the Year Award.
JH and GK: Honestly, it was awesome! We came into the evening already so stoked to be nominated for the award, when our name got called it was pretty surreal but it was cool to have our hard work acknowledged!

2. What was the significance of winning this award to you?
JH and GK: Like we said, for us it was significant to even know that someone nominated us for the award, and then it was a thrill to be named as a finalist. To win the award was just icing on the cake!!

3. How has winning the award benefited your business (or how do you think it will benefit your business) and the work you do in Prince George?
JH and GK: The first Monday after the awards gala was crazy! We had emails and calls from all over the community with congratulations and business inquiries. Winning the award definitely helped to bring our business onto people's radar and has continued to help us grow.
