Hiring Paid Class Interns for Fall 2026!

Thanks to the incredible support of the Ichigo Foundation, BCT is thrilled to announce we will be offering paid class internship positions to the very best 14-22 year olds in Brooklyn this fall!

The goal of BCT’s paid High School & College Internship Program is to provide robust training in arts education, theatrical production, and arts administration for high school and college-aged people to offer them meaningful, paid work experience in the arts, and to explore and be supported in the next steps in their college and career journeys.

We especially welcome applicants who meet either of these

community-centered criteria:

-- Current or prospective first-generation college student

-- Member of a historically marginalized community

Deadline to apply is Monday, August 24th at 10:00am!

BCT Summer Recap!

2026 BCT Viola Davis Summer Program VideoWe have had an amazing summer full of incredible programming for incredible kids from Brooklyn and far beyond!

Our 2026 BCT Viola Davis Summer Program ran throughout July, welcoming students to create shows together using characters, plot, and story elements they created on the spot together in our studios!

In 4 weeks, 119 students in 7 classes created 7 shows, several of which will be produced as part of our 2026-2027 Season!

Check out the video below to see all the joy that was created at BCT this July!

While we kept busy in person, our 2026 Summer Writer's Group is still running online!

This group brings together teams of musical theatre writers and current BCT students (called Youth Advisors) to create the majority of our shows for the next season. Youth Advisors brainstorm and pitch character and plot ideas to the writers, then help guide the writing process throughout the summer with check-ins and structured feedback to the writing teams.

This week, we are hearing the full drafts of all the shows created this summer, highlighting the work of 21 professional writers and 29 Youth Advisors who collaborated on 10 new musicals that will premiere on BCT's stage this year. Congrats to all involved!
