Williamson Focus

Fall 2024 Edition

Being accepted to Williamson College of the Trades is a very competitive process. The college is highly selective in making its entrance decisions, taking into consideration an applicant’s interview scores, passion for the trades, academic prowess, and especially financial need. Today only one out of every four applicants secure admission to Williamson. This issue of Williamson Focus outlines the college’s admissions process.

Selecting the right applicant is essential not only to ensure the highest caliber of graduate, but also to choose the right recipient to receive the tremendous investment by the college in a full tuition, room and boarding scholarship. Applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Williamson’s mission in advance and must participate in campus visits and interviews as part of the admissions process. Other considerations include strong moral character, academic achievement, and a preference for one of our trade programs.

A Williamson education offers a life-changing opportunity. We take that seriously. By carefully selecting applicants, we are admitting students who are academically qualified and have the potential to succeed in an environment that requires compliance with our guidelines and procedures—all designed to foster our core values of faith, integrity, diligence, excellence, and service.

Please share this information with anyone interested in learning about the tremendous opportunity of a Williamson education and what separates us from other colleges and universities.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Rounds, P.E.

President

Williamson College of the Trades

Each year, approximately 124 students are offered admission to Williamson College of the Trades. Admission is open to all qualifying young men, but special consideration is given to those who come from families of financial need and would otherwise not be able to further their education.

Applying for admission begins in early August between the junior and senior year of high school. In any case, it should be completed no later than the middle of January preceding the fall semester for which the applicant seeks entrance (contact the Office of Admissions for the exact date).

To be considered, candidates must submit a completed application and attend an Applicant Day. Selection decisions are provided to all applicants in early March.
