A Q&A with CHRT's incoming executive director, Joshua Traylor


Joshua Traylor joined CHRT as executive director on November 1. We sat down with him to learn more about him, his background, and his plans for CHRT. What interested you in joining CHRT as ED? I was born and raised in Washtenaw County so when the CHRT opportunity was posted, a few people from Michigan brought it to my attention. I had been working in the national policy space for quite a while and saw this as a great opportunity to come back to my home state and contribute to state and local reform efforts.

CHRT's 2022 impact report--Partnering for health & equity-- explores access, aging, and more


In 2022, CHRT managed 42 active projects, provided $4.3 million to community organizations and project partners, trained 34 health policy and public health fellows, and addressed pressing challenges in behavioral health, disability services, health-related social supports, public health, and substance use.

Melissa Riba has joined the Veterans Health and Wellness Collaborative Steering Committee at MSU’s Institute for Health Policy. and MiHIVE steering committees.


Ayşe G. Büyüktür will serve on Michigan's CIE Advisory Committee, part of the state's Health IT Commission, to develop a proposal for state-wide governance of CIE


Dana Elobaid, CHRT's communications intern, has been appointed co-editor in chief of The Michigan Daily, and will begin her term in January 2024 


Jonathan Tsao presented preliminary results from CHRT's CCBHC stakeholder interviews to MDHHS partners on November 29, 2023.
