Alvin City Council A
Martin Vela (i)

More candidate Information may be available at a later time.
Alvin City Council B
Glenn Starkey (i)

I have been Alvin’s City Council Member of District D for the past six years. Being uncontested, I will fulfill another three years on council then be termed out. Of all council meetings and workshops in my six years to date, I have only missed four meetings. Those were related to family and emergency situations.

No city business that comes to me is ever taken lightly. I review each issue in depth and address them with the belief that my vote on council should always be for ‘the good of all, not some.’ Any citizen’s request I receive is treated with respect and researched to the fullest in accordance with the problem. Decisions are often never easy, but I ensure honesty in my answers to problems and the best possible outcome.

For almost 47 years I have lived in the City of Alvin. It is where I married, raised a family, and worked to protect our community for the next generation. I was in the Marine Corps, am a Vietnam veteran, former law enforcement officer, and now retired from a global oil corporation as a security manager of petrochemical facilities. As the author of fourteen books, I have been fortunate to win many awards. My trainings, experiences, fiscal and emergency management, as well as my administrative skills have been placed to their fullest usage while I’ve been on council. I intend to do my best until my last day in office.

Thank you for your confidence in me.
