the August Jane Addams Branch event – using this link.
The virtual WILPF US Jane Addams Branch invites you to our monthly open meeting with guest speakers AND YOU! This month’s featured presentation (along with the usual questions, announcements, and discussion) is about those Korean people who suffered from the effects of the U.S. nuclear bombs and are seeking justice – and to outlaw nuclear weapons – through a People’s Tribunal.
What is the responsibility of the U.S.A. for the 1945 atomic bombings and for ensuring redress (an apology) to the Korean Victims?
Did you know that over 100,000 Koreans were forcibly removed from their homeland by the Japanese during the 1930s and brought to Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Japanese occupation of Korea? Over 70,000 of those Koreans became victims of the world’s first ond only direct use of atomic bombs against humans – by the U.S. – on the 6th and 9th of August 1945.
Hear more from the panelists – from SPARK and from Veterans For Peace. They will present on the upcoming 2026 International Tribunal, including its goals and current progress. Register for our monthly interactive virtual meeting using this link.
This presentation is hosted by WILPF Jane Adam's Branch and Korea Peace Now Grassroots Network.
