WELCOME BACK TEACHERS!
It's been so great to see many of you back in the store preparing your rooms for the new school year. We get new donations every day and have a wish list to keep track of items you need, but may not find when you visit. Keep us in mind for school field trips or in-classroom learning. The earlier you schedule, the better chance to find an available date. We want to help you have the best year!

Fair Fun at STEM-A-PALOOZA!
Kids, parents, grandparents, and SCARCE volunteers all had a great time learning about the environment and testing some hands-on science at this year's DuPage County Fair.
From discovering worms in soil to spin-art powered by bicycle, this year's STEM-A-PALOOZA was a hit with our fans.
Thanks to the volunteers and staff that showed us all how much fun science can be!

Hanover Park District Kids Visit SCARCE
August is National Water Quality Month, and the Hanover Park District celebrated with a visit to SCARCE to learn from the watershed model. This 3D model allows a hands on view of how water moves over different terrains.
Want to try out our Watershed model? You can plan a visit to SCARCE with your students or arrange to have the model come to you! Contact us at info@scarce.org.

Pumpkin SMASH Doubles Down!
This year's Pumpkin SMASH will be twice the fun--with SMASH collections happening on two Saturdays across the Chicagoland area.
Some towns will SMASH on November 2 and others will SMASH on November 9, for twice the opportunity to compost those old pumpkins and gourds.
Want to sponsor a SMASH at your school?
