WELCOME BACK TEACHERS!

It's been so great to see many of you back in the store preparing your rooms for the new school year. We get new donations every day and have a wish list to keep track of items you need, but may not find when you visit. Keep us in mind for school field trips or in-classroom learning. The earlier you schedule, the better chance to find an available date. We want to help you have the best year!

Fair Fun at STEM-A-PALOOZA!

Kids, parents, grandparents, and SCARCE volunteers all had a great time learning about the environment and testing some hands-on science at this year's DuPage County Fair.

From discovering worms in soil to spin-art powered by bicycle, this year's STEM-A-PALOOZA was a hit with our fans.

Thanks to the volunteers and staff that showed us all how much fun science can be!

Hanover Park District Kids Visit SCARCE

August is National Water Quality Month, and the Hanover Park District celebrated with a visit to SCARCE to learn from the watershed model. This 3D model allows a hands on view of how water moves over different terrains.

Want to try out our Watershed model? You can plan a visit to SCARCE with your students or arrange to have the model come to you! Contact us at info@scarce.org.

New Teacher? SCARCE Can Help!

New teachers have a lot to do! Setting up classrooms for the first time with displays and supplemental reading materials can be time consuming and costly. Did you know SCARCE has display materials, extra classroom supplies and loads of big books, chapter books and games, perfect for indoor recess times, which are set aside for teachers to purchase?

With your teacher ID, you can fill a box for only $10.

Stop in soon and find what you need to get the year off to a great start! Subscribe to our Facebook page to find out about materials that become available throughout the year--from musical instruments to microscopes--you never know what SCARCE might have for you!

Plan an Eco-project with SCARCE

Ready to plan for Fall fun? Want to extend eco-learning beyond an Earth Day event in April? SCARCE has ideas!

Whether you create a special collection that lets students get involved in re-use and recycling, or host a Fall Pumpkin SMASH to show how to manage organic waste properly - your eco project will have educational and social impact.

SCARCE is hosting 2 upcoming eco-events which are open to the public. We'd love to see you there.
