Here we are in the Dog days of summer again. Bottom line. July and August are the hottest and longest days of the year. I hope you are all staying comfortable and maybe visiting with family or friends who live in cooler locations. Here at the shop we are still stitching away but staying inside.
Knit Wits just got a shipment of Emma Ball bags and some cute markers in little tins. Their company is located in England and due to the high tariffs, they were temporarily not shipping to the US. I hurried up and ordered as soon as they were available again. If you haven't seen the bags, stop by. They are very well made and quite affordable.
We also received a new yarn from Berroco, Modern Cotton DK. It is a blend of 60 cotton and 30 rayon. It has a wonderful hand (feel) and should produce great stitch definition and a soft drape. We are looking at patterns that will show off its great traits.
I ordered two new books for the store. 52 Weeks of Scrap Yarn by
Laine and Abstract knitting Vol 2 by Georgia Farrell with Rowen. The first book has a large variety of patterns for making sweaters, jackets, shawls and even home decor using your stash. We could all use that. The Abstract knitting are patterns, both color and stitch to create unusual designs. I have already picked out a couple I'm going to try.
Next month, September, is my birthday and I will turn 80. My twin had wanted to make it to that monumental day so we are going to have her celebration of life on our birthday. I will be in Monterey for the event but we will be having a 20% off sale at the shop to celebrate. It will be Friday and Saturday the 12th and 13th. Hope you can make it to take advantage of the savings.
I am wishing everyone a wonderful August, keep on stitching.
