Fifty Years of Faith in Action
with Farm Working Families
| | |
Earlier this year, we welcomed students and leaders from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary to learn with us.
They visited farmworker communities to better understand the lives of the people who help grow our food
While at Beth-El, they worshipped, shared a meal, and served alongside our volunteers at the food pantry. They also visited the fields and met partners who support farmworker families.
We are thankful for times like this that help people learn, care, and stand with our community.

Volunteer Spotlight
We give thanks for Sally, one of our dedicated volunteers from Peace Presbyterian Church (Lakewood Ranch), who has served over 400 hours in the past five years, faithfully helping pantry visitors choose the food their families need with care and compassion.
SAVE THE DATE: Join Sally and many other volunteers for our Volunteer Appreciation reception on April 23.

At 12:45, before the pantry opens at 1:00, Rev. Tamara Leonard-Lara, mission pastor, leads a short devotion, Bible reading, and prayer. We take a moment to center our work in justice, kindness, and service. Then each volunteer and staff member says their first name so we can get to know each other, since we often have a new team each week. The reflection is shared in both Spanish and English, so everyone can feel included.

Early Bird Food Rescuer
Is this you? Our food rescue drivers are like breakfast superheroesāzooming between 7:30 am and 9:30 am, swooping up donations from stores faster than pancakes disappear on Sunday morning!
| |
Can-Do Organizers
Help keep the food market full by restocking fruits, vegetables, and canned food between clients so everyone can fill their carts and leave happy!
| |
Thrifty Treasure Hunters
Dive into bags of clothes, shoes, and goodies (some dusty, some sparkling) to find the gems our community will love. Your superpower? Turning a pile of donations into a neat, happy closet that makes everyone smile.

Wear closed-toe shoes
Wear closed-toe shoes to keep your feet safe while lifting boxes and moving around the pantry. You may be near carts, heavy items, or things that could fall. Staying safe helps you serve others with confidence and care.
