Being a Christian Is So Hard
Being a Christian can be so hard—especially when the hurt comes from another Christian.
Sometimes the people who are supposed to walk beside us are the very ones who disappoint us, misunderstand us, or even hurt us. And honestly, that can make us wonder, “Where is God in all of this?”
But remember Jesus.
Jesus knew what it was like to be betrayed, rejected, misunderstood, and deeply hurt. He was betrayed by Judas, one of His own disciples who had walked with Him for three years. He was rejected by His own people and handed over to the Roman authorities. Even those closest to Him scattered when things became difficult.
So if you have been hurt by people—even by people of faith—you are not alone. And your pain does not mean you have failed as a Christian.
Following Jesus was never a promise of an easy life. It is an invitation to walk with Him through all of life—the beautiful moments and the broken ones, the joy and the grief, the peace and the uncertainty, the celebrations and the trauma.
Jesus does not promise that we will never be hurt. He promises that we will never walk through it alone.
Sometimes Jesus comes to us through another person—a friend who listens, someone who prays with us, a stranger who shows kindness, or a fellow Christian who simply stays when everyone else walks away.
So don't give up.
Keep living. Keep walking. Keep trusting. Keep loving.
And when you are strong enough, tell your story.
Your story may be exactly what someone else needs to hear. The pain you have walked through may become the very place from which you can offer strength, hope, and compassion to someone who is walking through something similar.
We need each other.
Just as someone has been a source of strength for you, there may come a day when your story becomes strength for someone else.
Don't give up.
Keep walking with Jesus.
Keep living.
And remember—you are not walking alone.
