TMC A-Mountain First-Round Race Report

Oh my goodness, what a great morning Sunday morning was!

We hope that you enjoyed yourself as much as we did (we did indeed have fun once the A-Mountain gates were opened . . . ).

Thanks for putting in all the training miles and for all the finish line smiles!

Farther below is a list of all the super-awesome volunteers . . . we can't do events like this without them and without the support of the TMC Health, City of Tucson, Pima County, Tucson Police Department and others.

We'll send a more detailed race report after we get back from the Grand Canyon, but here are a few quick post-race items.

Remaining Shirts and Medals

Leftover shirts and medals will be available at The Running Shop starting on October 20th. If you missed the race, you can still snag your souvenirs before November 20th. Visit the Running Shop at 3055 North Campbell Avenue.

Laurita Lipsy (left) and Annemarie Medina (right): Annemarie is the one who helped us do the first-ever cross-city race that has become the TMC A-Mountain race. Thanks to AnneMarie, Jannie Cox, and former Mayor Bob Walkup for getting us started on this journey!

We are honored to have had Tucson Medical Center as our title sponsor for over 15 years now.

TMC Health is one of Southern Arizona's largest employers -- and they're looking to add to their roster of great staff. Whether in nursing, medtech, housekeeping, management or more, there's always something available at TMC.

If you're interested in working at TMC, check out their various job postings at https://jobs.tmcaz.com.

Thank You for Supporting Our Local Beneficiaries, including the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation

Thanks to all of you we have been able to provide $5000 to BEYOND for their 2027 programming!

Special thanks to Ross Zimmerman and Pam Golden and the entire Zimmerman family for allowing us to honor Gabe through these events. Supported by funding from Tucson Medical Center and participants, the events provide funding for the following organizations:

BEYOND Tucson Foundation: Following the tragic shooting on the morning of January 8, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona at Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ “Congress On Your Corner,” the Southern Arizona community spontaneously came together to honor, remember, and show solidarity for those that were killed, injured, or traumatized by the event. Along with its partners, BEYOND provides year-round opportunities for the public to participate in a series of healthy activities and to learn more about the scientific research that shows methods for optimal physical and mental health.

Additional race beneficiaries have included:

Children’s Museum, Tucson: Children’s Museum Tucson offers adventure learning, interactive exhibits and daily programming.

Greater Tucson Leadership is a non-profit, non-partisan leadership organization dedicated to providing leadership education, community development and civic engagement for the overall care of and commitment to our Tucson community.

Southern Arizona Roadrunners is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and fitness in Tucson and Southern Arizona through running and walking.
