Donation Drive - Wesley Baby Shower

SUN, SEP 27th

Each October, MVUUF helps put on a baby shower at Wesley Dayton Community Center, to help reduce the infant mortality in Dayton. Moms who attend are connected to vital services and receive one of our gift baskets filled with essential baby supplies. In order to fill our gift baskets, we’ll be accepting donations through OCT 4th. There are several ways you can contribute:

1) Purchase an item and place it in the collection bins, located by the nametags. Needed items include: baby socks, size 1 diapers, baby wipes, bibs, baby blankets, and baby safe stuffed animals.

2) Purchase an item from our Baby Registry at Target online (see button below). The item will be shipped to Steve S. for inclusion in a gift basket.

3) Donate funds through MVUUF's online giving portal. Just select “Wesley Baby Shower” from the first drop down menu.

Thanks to everyone for your continuing support! Please contact Steve S. if you have any questions.

A Message From Our Treasurer

To paraphrase a saying: don’t put off a pledge payment ‘til tomorrow, if you can pay it today!  We are 21% into our fiscal year, and our pledge payments are at 19%, so we are a little behind. Pledge payments are our Fellowship’s biggest source of income.  Together, we can pay the bills! Thank you!

You can pay your pledge by...

  • Mailing a check to MVUUF at 515 E. Third St., Dayton, OH 45402. Just write "pledge" on the memo line.
  • Or, paying through MVUUF's online giving portal. Just choose "Give to Pledge 2026/2027" from the first drop down menu.

Committee on Ministry Seeks Your Feedback!

Survey closes SAT, SEPT 26th

One of the charges the Committee on Ministry has is to gauge the health of the various Ministries of MVUUF.  One way to do that, is to ask those who participate in those Ministries to evaluate how their ministry supports the Mission and Vision of the fellowship, and what they would like to see in the future. We also ask the congregation these questions, as their view from the outside may be different than those participating directly. This fall, the Committee on Ministry is requesting your feedback on these ministries: Worship, Music, and Production. Please submit your responses by September 26th. Thank you!

Last Sunday

Joys & Sorrows

This past Sunday...

Tim G. shared a remembrance of their friend’s mother, Ann, whose funeral was just held. Our love to Tim, Ann, and all who knew her.

Dee Jay N. shared that she is very grateful for the love and support she receives from this congregation. She got new glasses and so she is seeing better. Her partner, Sandy, also received a disability determination. May the blessings continue for Dee Jay, Sandy, and all who love them.

May we know that our joys and sorrows are part of the sacred circle of life. May we be grateful for the Love that binds us to one another and will not let us go.

The joys and sorrows shared here are shared with expressed permission.

Story for All Ages

Last Sunday's Story for All Ages was Malala's Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai (author) and

Kerascoët (illustrator)

You can purchase it by clicking on the button below to find a seller. As part of our commitment to justice and equity, we encourage everyone to shop Black-owned bookstores (like Elizabeth's Bookshop and Writing Centre in Akron OH, which is both Black-owned and LGBTQIA+ owned).

If a Black-owned store doesn't have it, try to find it locally; and if you can't find it to purchase, try the library!
