Dear

It is not without theological significance that Jesus was called "the Word" in the gospel (i.e., the good news) of John. "The Word was with God, and the Word was God." Without getting into all of the theological nuances of that confession, one thing is for certain: communication is an inextricable aspect not just of our humanity, but of our faith.

Over the past two weeks, I have been made more aware of a couple of communication needs that will help facilitate our cooperative work in CBF Florida.

First, if your church would like assistance navigating the challenges of online communication and ministry during this time, consider joining Christen Green Kinard, founder and director of DigitalCongregations.com, for a series of four webinars on church communications through and beyond Covid-19. You can read a lot more about this opportunity just below this column. If you're convinced that this is a resource that you can use, then you can sign up here today. Just be aware that there are limited number of openings!

Second, we have friends in our Fellowship of Cooperative Baptists who read John 1:14 as, "Y aquel Verbo fue hecho carne . . . ." That is the language of their heart. I was reminded this week that these friends would be blessed if we also shared the news in Spanish. I am grateful to have an Administrative Assistant, Melissa, who is able to translate this e-letter into Spanish. So beginning with this issue of Sharing the News, anyone who would like to read this in Spanish "clic aquí para suscribirse."

I hope that this is a good word for you today.

Grace and peace,

Ray Johnson
