MRFF Summary:
Following major Democratic victories in the midterm elections, attention is turning to potential congressional investigations and impeachment proceedings against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) founder and president Mikey Weinstein told Military.com that hundreds of MRFF clients, from junior enlisted personnel to flag officers worldwide, contacted him following the election results, expressing what he called “a type of jubilation that I've not seen in at least about 10 years.”
Weinstein said MRFF clients “absolutely want to see Hegseth impeached,” believing it would diminish “the arrogance, hubris and swagger of the Christian nationalists.”
Citing Hegseth’s promotion of Christian ideology throughout the military, Weinstein declared: “The Military Religious Freedom Foundation is calling for the immediate impeachment of Hegseth, and probably other lieutenants, like Matthew Lohmeier and others.”
He emphasized the urgency of accountability: “We still have a Christian nationalist freak in charge of nuclear weapons and drones and conventional weapons, and that has to be corrected immediately.”
