Halloween Dress-Up Day — Friday, October 30 (Early Dismissal at 12:15)

One of our favorite LCHS traditions is back! On Friday, October 30, students are invited to dress up for Halloween and let their creativity shine, with costumes that reflect the kindness and respect at the heart of our Catholic values. Please note that school dismisses early at 12:15 that day, so plan pickup accordingly.

Please review these key guidelines with your student. Costumes must be modest, school-appropriate, and respectful of every religion, culture, and person. Political costumes, cross-dressing, and costumes that mock clergy or religious life are not permitted. Masks, weapons or weapon-like props, and references to alcohol, drugs, or vaping are also off-limits. Props must be small enough to carry in one hand, and students need to be able to sit at a desk in costume.

Makeup and face paint should be applied at home. It may not be applied or removed at school. Fake blood, paint, and other liquids are not allowed, and nothing with wheels is permitted on campus. Whole-class themes are reserved for seniors, but underclassmen are welcome to coordinate with friends.

Students who don’t follow the guidelines may be sent home or face other disciplinary action. Questions about costumes can go to Mr. Barnes or Mr. Munson, and questions about decorations to Mr. Loman.

SCIENCE MAKES HOMEMADE BATTERIES

Pennies, foil, paper towels, and a splash of vinegar. That’s all it took for students in Mr. McCullough’s class to build working batteries from scratch. Each cell produces about half a volt, so they wired several together in series to light up an LED.

Spend a day as a Knight and see what life at Lexington Catholic is really like. Every prospective 8th grader is welcome. Knight for a Day is Tuesday, November 3, and pre registration is required. Prospective 8th graders cannot attend without registering ahead of time.

Lexington Catholic, this is your invitation to Lourdes and Rome.

Mr. Samuel Mandt is leading a pilgrimage for LCHS students to some of the most sacred places in the Catholic world. You’ll pray at the grotto where Our Lady appeared, walk through the basilicas of Rome, and share it all with your classmates and teachers.

Students, parents, and anyone curious, see the full itinerary and details here.

In honor of our 75th year, an anonymous alumna has given $75,000 to bring new curtains, new lighting and long-overdue electrical work to the stage where generations of Knights have found their voice. We’re only $10,000 away from making it happen. Close the gap and work begins in February 2027.
