Did you know that employers value the skills that students acquire by conducting undergraduate research? And that students who participate in undergraduate research are twice as likely to graduate? And that Cal Poly Pomona offers research opportunities in ALL disciplines?
Not only that, but the work that students do outside of the classroom also gives them a stronger sense of belonging in their chosen fields of study AND at Cal Poly Pomona! They will also gain a greater sense of self-efficacy and learn more about what they are capable of. This workshop is your chance to hear directly from students as well as staff from the Office of Undergraduate Research as they talk about specific undergraduate research programs and highlight some great polytechnic learning opportunities.
Students from all majors are encouraged to participate. An interest in graduate school is NOT a requirement. This is truly open to everyone and is a great way for your students to show potential employers that they are self-motivated and have a “get it done” attitude. There are a lot of opportunities on campus so students don’t have to look hard to find them, and some are even paid!
