Dear Friends,
Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine and all those who have been impacted by the invasion into their country by Putin. One way that bullies try to influence people is by controlling their access to information and by giving them "fake news." Putin, in his effort to control Ukraine, has been trying to shut down communications there. As Rose Croshier, of the Center for Global Development, explained, "Ukraine looking to counteract Russia’s interference... sent a tweet directly to Elon Musk asking for help. Musk... immediately acted, announcing less than 24 hours later, Starlink service is now active in Ukraine, more terminals in route."
Across Europe, and around the world, people are giving support to refugees, mothers and children trying to escape the war. We salute all those participating in peace marches and protests around the globe, including the thousands of brave Russians willing to be arrested for speaking their truth. The world is filled with heroic individuals who believe in peace.
Over the years, many teachers and students from Ukraine have participated in The MY HERO Project. Here is a selection of Ukrainian student's stories. They are in all in our thoughts and prayers right now.
We invite you to join MY HERO and share a story, poem, art, music and or film about your hero with our global learning community. Together, we are building a library of hope that provides positive role models to educate, inspire and empower new heroes around the world.
Wishing peace, health and happiness to you,
The MY HERO team
