Dear South Central LAMP Community,
As the year draws to an end, I would like to share with you the joy I feel when I see how far South Central LAMP has come. As part of our community, you know the struggles we have encountered. There were times we worried about paying rent, payroll, and the costs associated with running a non-profit, much less navigating a pandemic. But today, as I write this letter, we are preparing to start two new programs in January!
Looking back at the hardships we had to conquer, two things have become clear. The first one is that we have been able to overcome so much due to the faith people have in the work we do and the people we serve. Whether you are a donor, a foundation, a volunteer, or a Board or team member, faith encouraged you to take a chance on this tiny organization. You saw past the challenges and knew our agency had potential and was special. The second point I recognize is that your faith in our work has manifested into generosity, something we have needed to succeed. Generosity, big or small, affects generations, not just the one person or place you helped. Mother Theresa said, "If you can't feed a hundred people, feed just one."
Many of us who work at South Central LAMP are products of generosity. At some point in our lives, someone found ways to support us, and today the same people who were aided by this kindness are doing the same for those we serve. It is clear that our benefactors are also products of generosity, and it's why they all want to be part of our mission. While we cannot feed hundreds of people, the impact we make on those we can feed is transformational, not only to them but to generations to come.
Thank you for your goodwill towards those we aid at South Central LAMP. It has absolutely changed the trajectory of our agency, those we serve, and those who assist our community.
With love, gratitude, and appreciation, from all of us here at South Central LAMP, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a new year filled with abundance and generosity!
