The 2020 Local Solutions conference will empower participants to take action steps that center climate equity. Climate equity ensures that all people have the opportunity to influence and benefit from climate resilience-building solutions. Each participant will leave with a list of equity-oriented action steps they will pursue upon returning to their community. The two keynotes and each convening session will provide guidance about how to implement climate resilience with an equity frame.

Pre-Conference Casco Bay Harbor Cruise

Sunday, May 10. 2020 6:00-8:00 PM Join us aboard a historic schooner for an exciting sailing adventure from Portland Harbor through sparkling Casco Bay on a leisurely two-hour sail. We invite you to network with other conference attendees or just relax enjoy the view, and soak up the salt air. An Island Institute staff member will join us to discuss the effects of climate change on Casco Bay. We will gather at 5:45 at the dock on the Maine State Pier, adjacent to the Casco Bay Lines Ferry.
