If you're working on a project that requires a more durable option for your application needs, contact our team at Federal Screen to learn more about wedge wire screens we can custom fabricate for you. With long-term operating and cost-benefits, it just might be the smart investment for your next job.

Here are 5 reasons to choose wedge wire.
Product Spotlight: Vessel Internals
Vessel Internals are custom fabricated for the most demanding applications and are available in multiple configurations. Internals include: pipe-based screen laterals, screen laterals, hub assemblies, header systems, inlet distributors and air scour assemblies. Extremely strong and durable, they provide even flow distribution throughout.

Our screen laterals and pipe-based screen laterals can be connected to distributor headers and spider hubs by standard NPT thread, fabricated flanges, ANSI connections, as well as fully welded assemblies.

Benefits:

  • Design flexibility
  • Highly resistant to clogging
  • Various fitting types and sizes available
  • Stronger and more durable than mesh screens
  • Continuous-slot design increases open area for better collection
  • High-precision slot sizes are available to meet your requirements
  • Economical designs make them less expensive than other screens
  • Resistant to extreme pressure and temperature variances as well as corrosion (depending on material)
Flat Panels used for Stream Diversion
We always like to see how our wedge wire is used in the final product or project. Check out this beautiful picture submitted by the Town of Castle Rock in Colorado of one of their stream diversions. We fabricated Flat Panels for this project. Wedge wire is ideal for fish screens due to its smooth upstream face and expanding orifice opening in profile. Plus, the design of wedge wire allows the smallest opening of the slots at the upstream surface, which then helps to reduce debris wedging below the screen surface.

Employee Spotlight - Peter

Meet Peter, a screen machine operator, who has been with Federal Screen since January 2008. With a background in accounting and experience as a tool and die maker, he started with FSP as a machine operator and progressed to lead hand. For over 12 years, he continuous to play a valuable role in our shop and can be counted on for other duties, including lathe work and shipping. He even helped to assemble machines as the company expanded with leading edge-production technology and equipment. One of the best things Peter enjoys about the job is the satisfaction of making quality screens for our customers. It is a technical role, and he receives tremendous gratification in managing all the tools and quirks that come with each machine. Peter loves to travel, with his favorite destination being Cuba, which he has visited over 60 times! We’re grateful that he’s been a part of the FSP team for so long.
