Greetings and Happy Summer!
Summer is finally here, and we can feel its good vibes— sunshine-filled days, music, travel, beaches, gatherings with friends! Looking back on the past few months, we have had the pleasure of bringing our music to some very special occasions. From corporate events to private celebrations at Philadelphia’s most vibrant cultural and hospitality venues, our live performances have set the stage for memorable moments for our clients’ special events at The Barnes, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Marriott Old City, Capital Grille KOP, The Logan Hotel, among others.
One particularly meaningful highlight was Laurent’s surprise solo saxophone performance during K.O.P Restaurant Week at The Capital Grille KOP, welcoming Lydia—the 2025 CHOP Ambassador and a talented 12-year-old aspiring saxophonist. Seeing her joy and passion for music was heartwarming. We were honored to support such a meaningful cause in partnership with The Capital Grille KOP.

The registered trademark for MixT BeatZ® was recently renewed, reinforcing our commitment to originality and safeguarding the band's identity as we continue to push creative boundaries. While MixT BeatZ® holds this distinction, it remains an integral part of our broader musical family, alongside the Laurent Bass Jazz Quartet, Laurent Bass Jazz Trio, Rio Rhythm Project, and Mélange Jazz Collective.

Meet the Bands:
We are proud to present a lineup of multi-talented musicians, each bringing their own distinct style and creativity to the stage:
· Laurent Bass Jazz Collective (Trio, Quartet) - Laurent Bass Jazz Collective is an innovative Philadelphia-based band that incorporates diverse cultural influences and contemporary arrangements to craft its own distinctive style. Its eclectic live performances showcase American jazz, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Caribbean jazz and World Beat, alongside original compositions—delivering a live music experience you won’t want to miss.
· MïxT BeatZ – Multi-instrumentalist and saxophonist Laurent Bass creates sophisticated and upbeat soundscapes through original compositions/remix in electro acoustic genre in addition to innovative jazz performances.
· Rio Rhythm Project – Philadelphia-based, Rio Rhythm Project brings the rich and vibrant sounds of Brazilian music, from choro to samba, bossa nova and Brazilian jazz to their performances.
· Mélange – Mélange Jazz Collective is a versatile and inventive Philadelphia ensemble who works in the World Beat, Blues, Funk, and Jazz scenes.
· Bert Harris - Laurent Bass Duo – Laurent Bass (Clarinet, tenor sax), Bert Harris (double bass): Jazz standards, NOLA, South African jazz, jazzy RnB, original compositions.
Associate bands:
· Gumbo Nouveau – A dynamic Philadelphia-based band known for its captivating performances of New Orleans Jazz, Funk, Caribbean Jazz, Reggae, Blues, World Rhythms, R&B, and original compositions.
· AfroJazz Collective – Led by bassist Bert Harris, AfroJazz Collective delivers captivating performances that pay homage to South African jazz icons like Abdullah Ibrahim, Johnny Dyani, Bheki Mseleku, and Winston Ngozi, as well as performing original compositions.
· Classical and Jazz Soloists - Showcasing individual masterful musicianship, these soloists bring the beauty of classical and jazz music to the stage.

Beyond the Music
Travel and Photography
In addition to music, I am passionate about photography. It allows me to capture moments, explore creativity, and see the world from new angles while also connecting with Philly's creative community. Meanwhile, Laurent is preparing for his third hiking journey in late August along the scenic landscapes of the Camino de Compostela, this time starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France, crossing the Pyrenees, and finishing in Pamplona, Spain—an opportunity for reflection, meditation and endurance while enjoying regional cuisine, culture, and unique hospitality.
This summer, we’ll be spending time in France, visiting my family on the beautiful shores of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). I am looking forward to it and especially excited for the many celebrations that await us!
