Nut Tree Mystery
Perhaps you are familiar with the beautiful garden outside the OICMF office. Originally planted by Jean Dickerson, it is currently maintained with love and care by her daughter, Kerissa Thorson. It provides the perfect welcome to all who drop by, and we love it!
A few months ago, we noticed a very odd thing...suddenly there were a number of nut trees popping up in random spots. We're not sure how they got there and while we love a good mystery (and a good nut) as much as the next guy, they just are not appropriate where they are, and soon will be unhappy. So we are looking to rehome them.
There are 5 walnut and 2 hazelnut/Filbert trees available. Currently between two and 5 feet tall, they will grow into full sized trees, we trust, when they find the right home. They are deciduous and would be perfect for a spot where you'd like winter light and summer shade.
Available now for you to dig up and take home, we are hoping they will all be adopted by mid-March at the latest. If you'd like one or more, please write us at info@oicmf.org or give us a call at the office - (360) 376-6636. First come, first served!
Fresh, home grown nuts - yum, and so good for you!
