We were so thrilled to welcome Audrey Aronson Johnson to Good Morning Lakeville this week. Audrey talked about her time growing up in Lakeville, her experiences as the first, and sometimes only, woman in the room at various points in her career, her family, her hopes for Lakeville, and more. Audrey is a delight and I believe she received our first standing ovation at GML.

Thank you to Marie and team for welcoming us to the Lavender Barnyard this week! For those that were at the Fall Gala, this little gem is on the same road, just on the left side of Cedar. You can pick your own, have a picnic in the Lavender, grab lavender scented items in the gift shop, take senior photos, the list goes on. When you go out there, you have to check out the lieu…it is the fanciest portable restroom we have ever seen!

Join us in celebrating, and touring, this gorgeous new building, where they make honey!

The Chamber has participated in Lakeville South High School’s Capstone program for several years. Each semester we work with a group of students to either support and guide a project they have started, or to have them help us with one of our own projects.

We had so much fun helping these three young women plan the first STEM Career Connections event - where employers attended to learn more about Capstone and YST. Read the full article here. Capstone is a great way to connect with our schools, students, and future workforce. It can be as much or as little time as you are able to give. We spent about an hour a week this semester consulting with the group.

We are still a looooong way from our 400 donor goal for the citywide blood drive this year. You can help in one, or all, of three ways!....(1) register to donate if you are able, (2) print the small poster and hang in your office, and (3) like and share the event on your social media. THANK YOU!

Sun Thisweek is moving to a paid subscription model later this summer. Sun Thisweek is a valuable resource for our local community – being the main place to get our hyper local news, high school sports, and community announcements. In addition, many of our local businesses use this vehicle to advertise their goods, services, and promotions.

We are seeing other newspapers around us cease to publish due to lack of support from advertisers and community subscribers. It is important that we continue to have a local newspaper where we can submit our announcements, catch up on the local news of the week, and see what our local businesses have to offer. 🎶 Make plans to join us this summer for "Live at the Lake" on Wednesdays, June 12-August 28, 2024! 🎵 This free concert series is located at Casperson Park Outdoor Performance Stage 6-6:30 pm: pre-show performances and 6:45-8:30 pm: main stage.
