Due to the overwhelming response to our conference field trips, we have added a technical field trip that is a short drive from the hotel. If you have not registered for a field trip yet, we encourage you to join us for the Punta Boca de Cangrejos Green Infrastructure Implementation Tour:
Upon arrival at the Punta Boca de Cangrejos project area, the executive director, Robert Viqueira, will be waiting to discuss the project. Through this project, Protectores de Cuencas (PDC) will expand the areas for green infrastructure implementation with the goal of reducing land-based sources of pollution from reaching coastal waters, restoring and protecting nearby sand dunes, and ultimately reducing the threats of flooding in the area. Additionally, PDC will plant native coastal plant species with community members to enhance stewardship for the area, increase habitat availability and ecosystem resilience. The duration is approximately one and a half hour, after which attendees can enjoy the area and participate with small businesses adjacent to the project. At 3:20 PM, you must be back on the bus to be transported back to the hotel. It is important that your attire is comfortable.
